BILL JEHLE IN THE ABSTRACT TEMINAL ONE LAX
BUNNY BLUE TONGUE, detail, gouache, ink and gold leaf on paper
Bill Jehle was chosen to participate in IN THE ABSTRACT at Terminal One LAX.
Curated by Mary Oliver and sponsored by Los Angeles World Airports and Los Angeles
Department of Cultural Affairs. Oliver has chosen 2 of my paintings from the UNDER OAKS
series to be in this show of abstract art from Los Angeles.
You already know if you are an A, B or C - so relax and take a closer look at these pieces
on the way to your Southwest Airlines gate.
These works both deal with elements that I have been playing with for a long time: sacred
geometry, improvisational drawing, color space, the golden core around which we revolve,
yantras and some other stuff that may help remind us of our true nature.
To see a full size version of these paintings
use the link here and spend some quality time
on my site. Of course I'm happy to arrange a studio visit.
SHOW DATES: November 15, 2008 thru March 31, 2009
