In this series, I explore the concept of transition be it from one space to another, from one state of consciousness to another, or into an entirely different dimension. At the center of each piece floats a cubic shape, both an object of mystery and a symbol of possibility. I see the “cube” as a doorway, an entryway to something unknown, a visual portal to worlds beyond our own. Whether suspended weightlessly in an endless cosmic void or sinking into the depths of a surreal, psychedelic landscape, the cube acts as a metaphorical threshold, a boundary between the familiar and the unknown.
On the other hand, the “cube” can be seen as a fence or cage that limits us from experiencing the vast, beautiful world beyond. The psychedelic, and surreal landscapes surrounding the cube remain out of reach, simply because we’re unable to turn around and set ourselves free. The cube only exposes two sides, which we could easily step past if we chose to. Perhaps this represents the self-imposed cages we create, living our lives in bondage while unaware that we already hold the keys to our own freedom.
